Brownfields

Brownfields are sites in which environmental contamination may have occurred and affected the area. Often abandoned industrial properties, brownfield properties and the cities or clients who own them need to be assessed in order to understand the extent of contamination and the risk level of allowing development to occur on them. Using Esri's Dashboards, we are able to assess an entire cities based on Sanborn maps (fire insurance map records) overtime and present the client with a comprehensive understanding of the areas most at risk and best suited for development and clean up (often a requirement for receiving federal grants).
